QTRACA was designed specifically for food manufacturers to help them increase productivity, save time and comply. At the heart of QTRACA is the idea of removing paperwork from the daily compliance process, and in turn increase productivity and efficiency, whilst reducing risk.
QTRACA addresses many common issues around safety, quality assurance, training, compliance and traceability and lets owners concentrate on being proactive within their business rather than reactive.
Built from decades of IT experience and designed from decades of quality assurance knowledge QTRACA can easily meet all your food safety, compliance, and inventory requirements.
After graduating from the University of Auckland with a BE (Electrical and Electronics) Mike has worked in the information technology space for over 25 years.
During this time he has worked across a number of industries including Telecommunications, Retail POS, FMCG Trade Promotions and Pricing, and Internet Security. He has gained valuable experience in growing startups to working in medium and large corporates across the world.
QTRACA is the result of this 25 years of IT experience, and years of listening to the work stories of a quality assurance manager.
A common theme arose and Mike felt it needed to be addressed. The end result of inefficient paper-based systems often led to avoidable issues and hard business decisions that had to be made. Increasing risk, costing time and money.
Mike wrote QTRACA to address these issues and help food industry businesses succeed and grow in an extremely competitive market.
After graduating with a BSc (First Class Honours in Microbiology from Otago University) he trained as a food microbiologist at MAF Quality Management (now AsureQuality), before branching into food safety consulting, auditing and training, working closely with the food industry in problem solving and coaching. He then moved to a major New Zealand retail supermarket chain as National Health and Food Safety Manager.
Shane established his own companies in 2002, and works alongside an experienced team providing a range of food industry services in the quality and food safety space. He continues to be actively involved in training and coaching, and offers a range of in-house training courses to businesses, as well as regulatory (Food Act) and customer audits, and quality system consulting (including developing more than 50 HACCP based food safety management programmes). Shane has also been an IANZ Technical Expert in the field of microbiological testing for more than 25 years.
Shane’s work overseas includes contracting to the Food and Agriculture Organization (the UN Food Agency) from 2008 – 2012, as an International Consultant on Food Hygiene, HACCP and Good Manufacturing Practices. More recently he has been developing and presenting Food Labelling and Shelf Life, Good Hygienic Practices (Foodservice sector) and Good Manufacturing Practices training workshops with the Mekong Institute, under the New Zealand Aid funded ProSafe Progamme.
As an International Consultant, Shane has provided training and consultancy services in Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Tanzania.
